Let the Baking begin!

!! INFO:  If you disable localStorage access (e.g. by using uBlock) you can still play the game but Bernd won't remember your progress !!

Fill Bernd with pride

Poor Bernd needs your help. Until Christmas, 24 different recipes must be prepared in his bakery to keep up with the family tradition. Unfortunately, he's lost track of time and now desperately needs some baking support to reach his goal. Apparently, he is busy with other things himself....

How to play

Each recipe requires certain ingredients, which are transported on conveyor belts. Each of these ingredients is defined by three properties - consistency, color and taste. Use machines to alter the ingredients’ properties and provide the components your recipe needs.

Machines can be moved within the conveyor belts and altered in their type. But beware: Some machines can be limited to a certain position or type.

This magical little Christmas baking puzzle game was made by two cookie junkies and lovingly handcrafted from graphical asset preparation to music composition to coding. Made by cookie lovers for cookie lovers - with Pixi.js.

Lasst das Backen beginnen!

hey! nice game you got here

im gonna put my thoughts and feedbacks that i wrote down while i played through the levels

here goes:

love the loading screen lol

Bernd looks really alive! its nice that he's not just a still image

really liking the dialogue so far

text can be a little slow, would be nice if i can skip the text forming with a singe click

it would be nice if the player can get to the gameplay a bit earlier, the excessive reading at the start can turn some people away

i really like how bouncy the ingredients are!

the puzzles are nice, tbh the Rum Truffles level by itself could probably be enough as an introduction to the mechanics, the 3 levels before it i still wasnt sure how everything worked, but this level made everything clear to me

i also like how when i hover over a machine, it shows what they are!

so far i really like how the logic works and how you can change the properties of ingredients, its really fun once you know how this all works

i like how you can drag the machines anywhere and the use of walls(blocks? i forgot what they're called), it really makes for some challenging levels

overall really nice game, im not much of a puzzle lover myself but i think my mom would love this

Hey daniawf!

Thank you for your really valuable feedback and sorry for our late reply. You had some super kind words for us which we enjoyed reading and wanted to give you an appropriate answer  <3

Concerning your remarks:

* Instead of skipping to the next text on clicking the "next" button inside the dialog window, we could indeed first complete the text and then (when clicking on the next button again) continue with the next speech bubble. Good idea!

* We know that people are not really into text-intensive starting tutorials :( The alternative would have been to "let the players try". But while letting some of our friends playtest the game, we got the impression that giving advise on what to do seemed to be needed :/

On the other hand, maybe next time we should choose more "experienced" gamers as our playtesters :D Our choice of people (who we are very thankful towards!) might have had a negative knowledge bias concerning game mechanics. To people used to puzzle games, the mechanics of Bernd's Biscuits would probably have been more intuitive.

Greetings from Germany
